This drawing of a pouch buckle was an exercise in attention to details. The buckle itself is an ordinary object that most people don’t pay much attention to, which was the motivation behind creating this drawing. I wanted to pay more than the usual amount of attention to the detailing of the treads that make up the strap as well as the surface of the buckle itself. I was interested in the contrast between the rough texture of the strap and the smoothness of the buckle. It was an interesting exercise and if for nothing else I developed a whole new appreciation for pouch buckles.
