I really appreciate the history and versatility of the “Birch tree”. The foliage of these trees is a marvel to see any time of the year but their colors are spectacular particularly in the fall. This painting was just a fun piece to do , playing around with varying hues of orange and reds. I can remember as a child peeling the bark from a birch tree near where I live. I learned from my observation back the n why the are use for paper making an even canoes. This is an orifinal oil painting painted on an 8 x 20 inch stretched canvas using Winsor Newton oils.
